Bitey of Brackenwood game OMG!!!

So it's been a quiet few months externally for me but there's been some big happenings. Currently I'm working on a game with Adam Phillips and we're getting near the later stages of development on it.

If you want more info on the game itself we're keeping the official facebook page updated with info regularly and we're setting up an open beta for the game that should be released soonish.

Also, I just released a new game! Check out Bitshift! It's a retro-styled de-make of my Blueshift / Redshift games.

Last time I checked, Brackenwood didn't have much of a plot or storyline to it. So... what will we be able to actually do in this game, apart from hop around fields and annoy random creatures?

There is actually a story progression in the game. Check out Last of the Dashkin, and it's pretty much moving from there.

As far as the style of game, it's a scrolling platformer where you pretty much are running, jumping, and pestering animals. It really does give a good sense of control and fluidity that Bitey has in his enviornment, too. Oh, and you can move fast...really fast...(if you want to).

Does that mean that Bitey is getting a redesign where he has no arms or legs and carries around a gun?

Yeah, I've always thought Bitey would be well suited to carrying around dual machine pistols and mowing down morrugs. He could use waterlollies as target practice.

Ever since Adam announced this a while back I've been foaming at the mouth (so to speak) waiting for it to come out. I've seen some gameplay vids and of course Adam's artwork, so I have high hopes. Just joined the official FB page too. Hope we'll be seeing it soon.

Glad you're looking forward to it. Yeah, we're actually rushing to get the Beta out ASAP, but there's some stuff we need to do in order to set it up properly for Facebook at the moment (plus last minute polish, stuff like that). We don't really have an ETA, but we're working hard to get it out as soon as we can.

It's been mentioned once or twice. I would enjoy seeing his horrible beeneyness in an episode of Invader Zim, but, alas, its glory has been taken away from us.

Did you ever consider putting Bitshift into another one of your games as a minigame / eater egg rather than a stand alone game? Thats what it felt like to me. Not enough of the good stuff for my taste, but I'm excited for what you have in store for us!
